will survey Central Florida angel investor activity.
John Krug (VP, Metro Orlando Economic Development Corporation)
will discuss high-growth Central Florida industries ripe for angel investments
including include biomedical, digital media, optics/lasers,
software, and simulation & training.
Local angel investors will share their “lessons learned” in making angel investments
& how startups can best approach them.
The
evening will also include a live webcast of the MIT Enterprise
Forum's “Angel Groups in Action: Funding Early Stage Innovation” event
held in Cambridge , MA . The program presents a rare
insider's look into the ever increasing role of angel investing
in early stage technologies and startups:
- the truth behind common myths about angel investors;
- common mistakes entrepreneurs make when approaching angels;
- the evolution of angel investing;
- how angel groups can and do organize effectively today;
- the future trends of angel investments.
The panelists include: Dan Roach as moderator,
Ed Roberts (MIT Sloan Professor ), James Geshwiler (Chairman
of the Angel Capital Association).
