Three Successful Firms Graduate From UCF Technology Incubator As New Client Company Joins

Orlando, Fla. (December 4, 2002)—Three successful information technology firms recently graduated from the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator, whose client companies expect to generate more than $100 million this year in technology sales and research and development grants.

Carol Ann Dykes, associate director of the UCF Technology Incubator, said NetLander, psiloQuest and Alinean graduated from the incubator program in December. NetLander, an IT management and software development company, saw its annual revenues double as a UCF Technology Incubator client company.

psiloQuest, which makes semiconductor components, projects revenues of more than $3 million in 2003 and $34 million in 2004.

Alinean, whose revenues topped $2 million in its first year, develops return on investment (ROI) financial analysis tools to help executives manage their IT budgets more effectively.

Dykes said she is happy to see all three firms graduate. "We nurture technology-focused companies with substantial potential for success," Dykes explained. "All three graduating companies have the potential to create high-wage jobs that diversify our economic base, and that's our payback," she said. "Since we opened our doors in 1999 we have served more than 30 technology companies that have created more than 400 local jobs in laser development, photonics, simulation products, advanced materials, electronics and energy related technologies," Dykes said.

A new client company, Infinite Applications, is just the sort of up-and-coming technology firm the UCF Technology Incubator wants to attract. Infinite Applications is an automation technology company and according to Aaron Knight, chief executive officer, automation technology is a burgeoning industry near the University of Central Florida.
