Orlando, Fla. (February 10, 2003) - The University of Central Florida Technology Incubator, whose member companies will generate more than $100 million this year in technology sales and research and development grants from private companies and government agencies can add another big feather to its cap.
Intelliorg, Inc., a woman-and-minority owned small business and UCF Technology Incubator participant, recently won a Florida I-4 technology corridor grant to Beta-test its intelligent pattern recognition technology.
"Intelliorg's technology combines cognitive analysis, artificial intelligence and modeling and simulation to enhance decision support in critical, information-intensive situations," said Yasmin Tirado-Chiodini, founder, president and chief executive officer of Intelliorg.
Tirado-Chiodini said the Beta test will take place this spring in partnership with the National Domestic Preparedness Council (NDPC). Led by the Orange County Sheriff's Homeland Security Office, West Virginia University and the State of West Virginia, NDPC trains homeland security, intelligence and emergency management personnel, among others, in vulnerability analysis, threat assessment and counterterrorism. Intelliorg will play a key role for NDPC as its provider of ongoing intelligent information pattern recognition and related systems integration and services.
Carol Ann Dykes, associate director of the UCF Technology Incubator, said Intelliorg, Inc., is one of its outstanding participants. "Our key objective is to create the environment for high technology companies to flourish," Dykes said. "Technology is enhancing our nation's military power and Intelliorg is playing a key role in expanding that power to other areas, such as homeland security.
Intelliorg is a woman-and-minority-owned small business affiliated with the UCF Technology Incubator. The company focuses on intelligent pattern recognition systems, biometrics, modeling and simulation and crisis management for homeland security, law enforcement, defense, healthcare, finance and other applications.
Intelliorg received its Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification by the State of Florida in 2002 and is currently in the process of receiving its 8(a) and HubZone certifications from the federal government.
