Axontologic, Inc. Joins University of Central Florida Technology Incubator

Orlando, Fla. - (July 7, 2003)—Axontologic, Inc., is the newest company to join the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator. AxontologicTM helps its clients extract the value hidden in their corporate assets by providing software and services focused on improving research and knowledge management processes using natural language understanding, knowledge representation, information retrieval and data mining technologies. Among its clients, Axontologic cites pharmaceutical, biotech and healthcare firms.

"Participation in this program allows us to focus on our current strength; the technology," said Richard Hull, Ph.D., CEO of Axontologic. "Aside from the administrative, legal and marketing support, the Incubator provides us with unparalleled access to networking and business development opportunities that normally would take years to develop."

The company is developing software used to extract useful information from free text by analyzing synonyms, acronyms, punctuation, abbreviation and many other factors. The software will help biological and clinical researchers make new medical discoveries while simultaneously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of daily information processing activities.

Axontologic's first product, AxonConnectTM, integrates information from multiple, distributed data sources and organizes it under one or more ontologies. Researchers can extend these ontologies, search and browse the integrated data, and share information collaboratively. This results in stronger drug pipelines, quicker times to market with new medicinal therapies and improved patient care for Axontologic's clients.
