Orlando, Fla. (May 11, 2005) – The University of Central
Florida Technology Incubator (UCFTI) is partnering with the local
chapter of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Alumni Club
to host a June 1 event “Finding Hot Angel Investments.”
Mark Lee, Chair of the Central Florida MIT Club, said “angel
investors are high net worth individuals who invest in early
stage companies,” adding, “Angels are significant
sources of capital for companies that are not far enough along
to attract venture capital.”
“This will be a great opportunity for the Club members
and other individuals from the community to learn about being
an angel investor and to meet companies seeking funding,” added
Lee.
The session will take place from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the University
of Central Florida’s Downtown campus on East Pine Street.
The program will feature sessions on regional angel activity,
local emerging industries hot for investment, a panel of local
angel investors and a webcast of the MIT Enterprise Forum from
the Cambridge, Mass. campus of MIT.
The MIT Club of Central Florida is comprised of local MIT alumni.
Many of its members are entrepreneurs or potential angel investors.
