Ascenda: a New Name for Tech Firm that Focuses on Digital Guest Accommodations Technology for Hotels, Time Share Resorts

Orlando, Fla., (June xx, 2005) --- Ascenda, Inc., is the new corporate name for a four-year old Orlando, Fla.-based technology company that is squarely focused on a fast-growing technology segment rooted in one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated hospitality markets: guest accommodations systems for hotels and time share resorts.

Gaidi Hartage, founder and chief executive officer of Ascenda, said the name change will make it easier for the high-growth technology company — formerly called Ascendovations — to brand itself and its products. “We have a growing list of clients who are based throughout the world,” said Hartage. “Our old name was a hybrid that combined ascent with innovations. In India, France and Indonesia, the name has little intrinsic meaning,” Hartage said.

Ascenda will formally launch its primary product — Express Guest™, a stand-alone kiosk that gives hotel and timeshare guests a fast, user-friendly option to waiting in line to check in or out of a hospitality property — at HITEC, the nation’s largest hospitality industry conference.

Express Guest™ provides key interactive guest accommodations such as hotel check-in & check-out, with such added features as electronic will-call for local area event ticketing.

Hartage said Ascenda is investing heavily in research and development of new products.
“Our roots are in web-based software development that helps organizations become more efficient, that is where we want to be innovative,” Hartage said.

Already Ascenda, which got its start at the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator and focused initially on Central Florida hospitality and tourism solutions, counts among its clients LYNX Transportation, the Florida A&M University College of Law and the International Drive YMCA.
