Orlando, Fla. (January 4, 2006) …. Axena™ Inc.,
a leading U.S. provider of corporate governance software that facilitates
compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, Enterprise Risk Management
and international demands for corporate governance and accountability,
has graduated from the University of Central Florida Technology
Incubator’s downtown facility. The downtown facility is an
economic development partnership between the Incubator and the
City of Orlando. Axena remained in downtown Orlando and relocated
to offices at 111 North Orange Avenue.
A strategic partnership Axena™ developed with capital investors
Mirabilis Ventures, a private venture capital company that projects
$4 billion in revenues next year, provided the impetus for Axena’s
graduation.
Frank Hailstones, CEO of Axena, said he is grateful for the assistance
the UCF Technology Incubator provided. “The Incubator created
a supportive environment where we were able to develop our products
and approach to the market and test concepts on experienced observers," said
Hailstones. “As we matured as a company, the myriad resources
provided by the incubator allowed us to effectively sell our products
and services to customers around the world,” he added.
Frank Billingsley, Executive Director of Orlando’s Downtown
Development Board said, “We are delighted that Axena has
made the decision to stay downtown and be part of the exciting
redevelopment of downtown Orlando. The UCF Technology Incubator,
in partnership with the City of Orlando, is planting the seeds
for quality high wage jobs and a stronger economy in Central Florida.”
