Orlando, Fla. (October 11, 2006) --- Masscal Scientific Instruments, the operating division of Masscal Corp. of Chatham, Mass. that manufactures unique laboratory instruments for chemical, pharmaceutical, medical, engineering and research laboratories, has relocated its corporate headquarters to the UCF Technology Incubator in the Central Florida Research Park near the University of Central Florida.
John W. Furry, Ph.D., chief executive officer of the six-year old Masscal Corp., said the relocation includes business, technical and manufacturing operations.
Furry said Masscal will combine workforces with ProTech Scientific, an Orlando-based consulting firm, and will utilize the services of a network of highly specialized scientists worldwide. Furry, who was recently named chief executive officer of Masscal, is the former Director of New Technology for TA Instruments of Wilmington, DE and President of ProTech Scientific.
Masscal will hire at least six new chemists, engineers and manufacturing technicians as a result of the move, Furry added.
