ORLANDO, Fla. (November 9, 2006) – Perceptive Technologies, LLC recently donated five much-needed, brand-new Dell computer systems to the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce. The company began as a vision of co-founders Alan Bowman and Daniel White from White’s home in St. Cloud and eventually relocated to downtown Orlando when Perceptive joined the UCF Technology Incubator in December 2005. The company has grown quickly in 2006 but neither Bowman nor White forgot where it all started.
White, chief executive officer, and Mark Petrovich, business analyst, presented the new computers at the St. Cloud Chamber’s annual awards banquet. The chamber had been using handed-down systems so the gift came as a welcome surprise to Chamber president David Lane and his staff, as well as the 350 individuals who attended the event.
“This donation is a case of our remembering our roots,” said White. “Our business has done well, and we have not forgotten where we came from. We wanted to give back to those who helped us when we needed it.”
Perceptive Technologies’ core business is comprised of three divisions: Software Solutions, Interactive Design and Documentation and Training. Through Perceptive’s relationship with the Chamber when the company was first founded, one of their core products was developed which is an association management tool. The software tool is being implemented by the Chamber and will be marketed to other membership-based organizations.
The company’s client base increased by 78 percent in 2006 and its workforce increased by 83 percent. Although a lot has changed since the two owners devised their initial business plan, it seemed only fitting that the company remember its early development and recognize how the right technology can assist the Chamber with meeting the challenges of a growing community.
