GeoFitness, Inc. Lands Major Investor, Appoints Two Senior Executives As Vice Presidents

Orlando, Fla. --- GeoFitness, Inc., a firm that specializes in unique fitness products and related wellness programs, recently appointed senior executives Michael Cordier and Paul Suchoski to the management team of the company.

Cordier, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of management and marketing experience, was named vice president of the firm.

Suchoski, a successful entrepreneur who specializes in technology companies, acquired a significant minority share of GeoFitness by making the largest financial investment in the company to date.  Suchoski also joined the firm as vice president for strategic development.

Dr. Debby Mitchell, founder and president of GeoFitness, lauded the appointments — and the capital investment — as a big step for GeoFitness.

“We will now be able to substantially increase our marketing and sales efforts to reach more customers in the education market as well as expand into other target markets,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Suchoski said he is likewise enthusiastic about the firm’s potential. “I am excited about working with a company whose product line can have a significant impact on childhood obesity and also has the potential to improve the quality of life for seniors."

GeoFitness, a client of the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator, offers several products that aid children and adults in dealing with obesity and lack of exercise. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, obesity increased dramatically among U.S. adults from 1987 to 2000 and recently reached epidemic proportions. Nearly 59 million adults are obese, and the percentage of young people who are overweight has more than doubled in the last 20 years.

GeoFitness markets the GeoMat® – a workout mat that resembles a tic-tac-toe board or phone pad. Used with a tested exercise regimen, the GeoMat® offers a thorough cardiovascular workout, simplifies footwork, appeals to children as well as adults and helps encourage regular healthy exercise, Dr. Mitchell said. GeoFitness has also produced several videos to instruct and encourage physical activity with the GeoMat®.

An accompanying product, the GeoFloat®, offers a safe workout using water instability and resistance to increase flexibility, balance, stability and core body muscle toning.
