Event Showcases Unique Opportunities for Emerging Businesses
(Orlando, FL) – The Disney/SBA National Entrepreneur Center
(NEC) will be hosting an Entrepreneur Fair to
celebrate its third year anniversary on Wednesday, June
28, 2006. The event will be at the NEC offices,
located in downtown Orlando at One Landmark Center, 315 E. Robinson
Street, Suite 100 and will feature free seminars from 1p.m. - 5p.m.,
followed by a celebratory networking reception from 5:45p.m. -
7:30p.m.
The free seminars will include helpful tips for start-up and existing
businesses, with seminars being offered in both English and Spanish. The
networking reception will highlight testimonials from successful
entrepreneurs and companies who have been assisted by the NEC’s
onsite partners, as well as a special cake-cutting celebration.
The NEC is dedicated to the growth of small businesses in Florida
and throughout the nation. The center is celebrating it’s
3rd Anniversary by hosting an Entrepreneur Fair for emerging entrepreneurs
and existing small business owners to learn more about the services
available through the onsite partners of the NEC, which include:
the Black Business Investment Fund (BBIF); the Florida Black Business
Investment Board (FBBIB); the Florida First Capital Finance Corporation
(FFCFC); the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund (HBIF); the Metropolitan
Orlando Urban League (MOUL); the Minority/Women Business Enterprise
Alliance; Orange County Government; SCORE Counselors to America’s
Small Business; the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA); UCF
Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and the UCF Technology
Incubator (UFCTI).
To date, the NEC’s onsite partners have counseled and trained
more than 34,209 clients since its inception in June of 2003. The
public-private partnership has made over 142,316 contacts, and
facilitated the origination of over 321 loans with a combined value
of $65,326,870. The NEC’s onsite partners have also
assisted their clients in securing over $10,547,069 in Other capital
(either Private, Angel, or VC funding). *please note that these
numbers only reflect clients tracked that were willing to submit
information.

need to grow stronger, more viable businesses. The Entrepreneurial Fair
aims to introduce more Central Florida entrepreneurs to the wealth of business
