G2iD Launches G2iD Protect®, A Revolutionary Online Transaction Security System

ORLANDO, Fla., (Aug. 21, 2006)  --- G2iD, an emerging technology firm based in Williamsburg, VA and with its main sales office in Orlando, FL, announces G2iDProtect® a revolutionary software centric, consumer online transaction security system that provides comprehensive protection of passwords.

Eusebio Coterillo, chairman of G2iD, Inc. said the password protection system offers unparalleled security for end users who make password protected financial transactions online with banks, credit unions, retailers and other enterprises by addressing the gaps in security not addressed by conventional authentication systems.

Uniquely, G2iDProtect® focuses on real-time security for the end user, Coterillo said.

“So far, no one has designed a security system that focuses on protecting the privacy of the end user — the customer,” Coterillo said. “Typical security systems focus on protecting the enterprise network, because that’s where the big money is,” he said.

G2iD has been developing G2iDProtect® for more than a year, designing real-time protection far different and more effective than conventional protection systems being offered. Coterillo said G2iDProtect’s proprietary technology is deceptively simple and revolutionary.

“One of the components G2iDProtect® utilizes, SecurInput®, is a patent pending virtual keyboard that camouflages the end user’s keystrokes by randomly generating additional keystrokes that are seen at the operating system level and on the screen as actual keystrokes,” Coterillo explained. This effectively protects the password against key logging spyware even in the event that the user’s anti-spyware definition application does not detect the key logger. Key logging software is used to monitor actual keyboard strokes, mouse clicks and capture screen shots; SecurInput® camouflages the password against each.

G2iDProtect® uses a revolutionary virtual one-time password generator, AuthenticID®, which protects passwords from man-in-the-middle attacks. It provides protection against all forms of man-in-the-middle attacks, even those that traditional two-factor authentication are susceptible to.

G2iDProtect® also addresses one of the most prevalent problems plaguing e-Commerce – phishing. It comes with an anti-phishing product, PhishPhinder®, which allows users to verify in real time that a site is authentic and not a front for a “phishing” expedition that steals a user’s financial information.

Coterillo said the system is available now for financial Institutions to deploy. “We are developing a pricing plan for banks, financial institutions and the enterprise,” he said.

G2ID was recently accepted into the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator.
