Datanautix Wins SBIR Grant to Study Ways to Drive Breakthrough Change In Customer Service Operations

ORLANDO, Fla.(February 26, 2007) – Datanautix was recently awarded a $99,981 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant to study ways to help businesses better serve their customers.

Sanjay Patel, founder and president of Datanautix, said the grant was awarded by the Office of Industrial Innovation at the National Science Foundation.

Patel said Datanautix is developing ways to substantially increase productivity of back office and call center operations in the U.S.  “In the 1990s we saw a huge migration of back office operations to markets like India and the Philippines, where labor costs are substantially lower,” Patel said.  “Corporations that transferred their back office operations to foreign countries typically saw labor savings in the 30 to 40 percent range,” Patel added.

Patel explained that new software technology and management systems will further accelerate the migration of white collar jobs to low wage economies unless domestic companies proactively drive breakthrough change in productivity to match offshore labor cost advantages.

“The Datanautix SBIR study will focus on learning new ways to improve customer relations and productivity without migrating jobs overseas,” Patel said. “Our client engagements typically show that we can increase productivity within back office and call center operations by 65 to 75 percent.  The NSF funding will allow us to take our experience base and turn it into software capabilities that can help companies rapidly take advantage of our expertise in improving customer satisfaction” he said.

Datanautix is a client of the University of Central Florida Technology Incubator.
