WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (December 16, 2008) – NR Electronics LLC, a Winter Springs component
distributor that specializes in hard-to-find and obsolete parts, received a major award at the recent 11th Annual Don Quijote Awards
The event, held Saturday Dec. 6 at Walt Disney World, was presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and the Hispanic
Business Initiative Fund, to recognize the most outstanding Hispanic entrepreneurs and professionals of the year.
Norberto Ruiz, operations director, and Liza Ordoñez, managing director of NR Electronics, accepted the Quijote Award for “Hispanic
Business of the Year with more than three years in existence.”
Ordoñez said the award celebrates “the strength of character, conviction, virtues and the dreams of this beloved character
of Spanish literature.”
“It’s a wonderful occasion for us,” she told customers and supporters in an email Thank You announcement. “We’re
fully aware that our accomplishments are not simply attributable to ‘genius’ leadership or hard-working employees. We grew
and prospered only because we found some great friends like you who gave us loyal support along the way.”
NR Electronics, which Ruiz founded in 2002, has been a client company of the University of Central Florida Incubation Program in the Seminole
County facility since April. The Incubation Program is sponsored by Seminole County Government, the City of Winter Springs, and the
Florida High Tech Corridor Council.
The growing company, which posted sales totaling $1.5 million last year, is no stranger to awards, as it was named a “Success Story
of the Year” by the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Greater Orlando earlier this year and was previously awarded “Exporter
of the Year” by the US Department of Commerce.
