Orlando-based Startup Petentials.com Receives National Exposure on FOX Network, Surpasses First Membership Milestone

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 28, 2008)  --- Boosted by a feature story aired on Fox affiliates throughout the U.S., Orlando-based startup Petentials.com has taken another step toward its mission of becoming the world's leading online portal for animal enthusiasts: surpassing 500 registered users.  The feature, produced by Orlando's FOX affiliate, WOFL, has already aired in markets including Minneapolis, Chicago, Austin, Sacramento and Indianapolis, generating hundreds of new visitors and registered users.

A user-driven Web community, Petentials.com provides animal enthusiasts a unique ability to network, access animal-themed products and resources, share information and entertainment, and develop a complete online presence for each of their pets.

Petentials stands out with its fun, lighthearted tone-taking a "by animals, for animals" perspective.  "People love talking about their animals, but finding an appreciative audience isn't always easy," said founder and President Darren McDaniel.  "Our vision for this site is to provide animal lovers a welcoming forum for connecting and sharing with others by expressing themselves through their pets."

"We welcome all species and breeds-real or imagined," said McDaniel, "but you have to be a human adult to create an account."  Among the new users are Simon the Persian cat from Munster, Indiana; Abby, the Bernese Mountain Dog from Windsor, Ontario; and Internet-celebrity rabbits Buns and Chou Chou from Oakland, California.  Registration at the site is free.

Petentials is a client of the UCF Incubation Program.
