ORLANDO, Fla. (July 24, 2008) -- MyDocHub.com, an interactive online community that provides consumer reviews of local area physicians,
doctors and healthcare facilities, reports it is now logging an average of more than 250,000 monthly visits, up more than 120 percent since
the start of this year.
Dafe Ojaide, chief executive officer of MyDocHub.com, said that besides the substantial increase in site visits, more visitors are exploring
other site features---page views at MyDocHub.com have increased more than 500 percent since January.
Ojaide said he attributes the site's rapid growth to a number of new user-friendly features MyDocHub.com added at the start of the year,
including enhanced local doctor profiles that include more information about each physician's practice, photos of the doctor or staff, hours
of operation, insurance accepted, and online appointment scheduling.
"The online appointment scheduling is perhaps our most sought-after and most highly praised feature," Ojaide said.
Ojaide said other new features include Google maps and an enhanced search engine with specialty and/or city or zip code search, and more
medical information about various disease conditions.
MyDocHub.com offers patients the chance to anonymously review and rate their experiences at doctors' offices based on punctuality, waiting
room times, total time spent in the office and staff efficiency.
Launched in 2007 as a client company of the University of Central Florida Incubation Program, Ojaide co-founded MyDocHub.com with Ning Yu,
a Chinese doctorial candidate in computer science at UCF.
Ojaide said MyDocHub.com's health blog recently posted its 1000th message and doctor ratings are
up more than 300 percent since the start of the year.
"Our site users are adding doctor reviews daily," Ojaide said.
MyDocHub.com is free to the user. Users must register in order to rate their doctors.
"Doctors use our website to reach local residents looking for anything from pediatricians to thoracic surgeons," Ojaide said. "Our doctor
search engine enables pharmaceutical companies and health care organizations to target users who are more likely to be interested in their
products or services," he said.
